Accounting Administrator

Description We are looking for an Accounting Administrator to support day-to-day financial operations for a construction and contractor-focused environment in Kansas City, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can keep accounting records accurate, manage high-volume transaction processing, and contribute to smooth coordination across billing and payment activities. The role calls for strong attention to detail, confidence working with financial data, and the ability to maintain organized processes in a fast-paced office setting.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices accurately, assign the correct coding, and prepare payments in accordance with company procedures.

- Manage customer billing activities, record incoming payments, and help keep accounts receivable balances current.

- Complete regular bank reconciliations by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring financial records remain aligned.

- Maintain organized accounting documentation and update supporting records for audits, reporting, and daily reference.

- Assist with certified payroll administration by gathering required information and preparing documentation in line with project and compliance needs.

- Use Quick Books and related accounting tools to enter transactions, monitor account activity, and support reporting accuracy.

- Partner with internal team members to address payment questions, follow up on outstanding items, and improve day-to-day accounting workflow. Requirements - Experience supporting accounting operations with a focus on both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

- Working knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures and the ability to identify and resolve variances.

- Proficiency with invoice coding, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.

- Hands-on experience using Quick Books in an accounting or bookkeeping setting.

- Familiarity with certified payroll processes and related documentation requirements.

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work reliably within a team-oriented business environment.
