The Front Desk Receptionist is often the first voice patients hear when they contact our office. This role focuses primarily on answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and assisting patients by phone, while also providing basic front desk and administrative support in a busy medical practice.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys phone-based customer service, helping people, and keeping schedules organized.
Front Desk Receptionist Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):- Answer incoming calls in a friendly, professional manner
- Assist patients by phone with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and general questions
- Transfer calls appropriately and take accurate messages for clinical and office staff
- Communicate scheduling changes, delays, or updates to patients and staff
- Assist with basic administrative tasks and office projects as needed
Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of administrative support experience in a medical environment preferred
- Comfort handling calls in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of insurance verification and scheduling processes preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
- Team-oriented, dependable, and willing to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer systems
