OverviewSenior Construction Manager – Mission Critical responsible for delivering predictable outcomes, maintaining client relationships, and overseeing project performance across a portfolio of projects.
Responsibilities- Champions “The Layton Way” by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
- Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
- Responsible for the financial and general project performance of all projects within their portfolio.
- Responsible for acquiring new work and maintaining relations with existing and prospective clients.
- Lead pre-construction efforts for potential and secured work.
- Have total responsibility for the success of the customer and our success with that customer.
- Oversee margin targets and ensure we pursue the right type of customers while meeting or exceeding their expectations.
- Manage the customer and project performance from cradle to grave; ensure a principal in charge is available to the customer and internal team.
- Ensure clients are well taken care of and have an enjoyable experience working with our team.
- Lead community service events and participate in select industry events to foster growth through continual education.
- Participate in the development and review of project schedules; coordinate resources to avert problems.
- Address difficult issues that may arise on a project, including construction, personnel matters, and related challenges.
- Provide senior overview and input for project schedules during acquisition efforts and execution of work.
- Desire to motivate, inspire, and develop people.
- Utilizes good judgment and remains efficient under stress.
- Ability to work with and direct a team in alignment with core values.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to identify complex problems and develop and evaluate options to implement solutions.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in commercial construction.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and comply with our company vehicle safety program.
- 4-year degree in a construction-related major.
- Minimum 15 years of project management experience.
