UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Civil Superintendent - Heavy Industrial opportunity in Various Locations
.

Description

This new req will be for Civil Superintendents with a heavy industrial background in Power and OGC. Looking to hire an additional 3 Civil Supers under this req.

Responsibilities
  • The Civil Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the assigned project(s) to achieve safe, timely and profitable completion of each project, including planning, organizing, and supervising specific portions of construction work for an assigned area.
  • Managing the construction scheduling of the civil related activities of subcontractors to confirm completion of contractual construction activities, maintaining continuity of job progress and maximizing efficiencies related to the assigned area.
  • Overseeing the following project work activities:
    Earth work, site grading, flatwork (asphalt and concrete), surveying and site layout, concrete installation, deep foundations, drilled piers, underground piping, grounding, and duct banks.
  • Overall supervision of construction effort, which includes safety, productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, material management, safety and quality, scheduling, engineering, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Ensuring subcontractor contractual compliance on designated civil construction related activities.
  • Building effective client and subcontractor relationships and interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, and other contractors.
  • Collaborating with project management to develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.
  • Authorizing purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc., under the supervision of Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Responsible for overall project safety, reviewing and auditing site specific safety documentation, including Pre‑Task Analysis (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs) on a regular basis.
  • Completing daily field reports and taking daily pictures to document construction progress.
  • Assessing future work activities and identifying concerns with work plans by utilizing subcontractors' 3‑week look‑ahead report.
  • Developing a marked‑up and as‑built set of drawings to produce the record set documents, and answering RFIs with assistance from Assistant Project Manager or Field Engineer.
  • Directing and managing subcontractors as necessary to comply with the established project schedule, tracking and verifying progress on an installed quantity and work hour basis.
  • Verifying material deliveries meet specifications and are being stored properly, and ensuring required preventative maintenance and/or temporary heating is being performed by subcontractor (coordinated with Materials Manager).
  • Coordinating with the QA/QC Manager to verify all welders on site are qualified to weld on the project.
  • Witnessing all equipment setting and alignment.
  • Walking down all systems prior to, during, and post hydrostatic testing to verify compliance with drawings and specifications and signing off on completed system testing and restoration.
  • Developing punch lists of items out of compliance or not completed.
  • Verifying the most current drawing revisions are being used in the field.
  • Understanding and executing the project scope and any changes that develop, ensuring field change orders are executed.
  • Overseeing craft supervision and project staffing as required.
  • Providing oversight of project site material and tool management.
  • Responsible for the daily field construction of an individual project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.
  • Supervising and directing the daily efforts of the physical construction of the project through daily coordination of all field activities, subcontractor direction, and code/specification compliance.
  • Reading, interpreting, and understanding isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&'s, performing other duties as assigned.
