Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Construction Inspector to support a client on new building construction projects in Kansas City. This individual will serve as a key liaison between the owner, contractor, and design teams, ensuring construction activities meet specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. This is a fully onsite role, ideal for someone with strong field experience and a deep understanding of construction inspection and materials testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary liaison between owner, contractors, and design professionals
  • Conduct daily onsite inspections and document construction activities, progress, and conditions
  • Perform and document materials testing, including concrete and rebar inspections
  • Track labor, equipment, quantities, and any delays or issues impacting project timelines
  • Attend preconstruction and progress meetings and provide detailed reporting to project managers
  • Review contractor schedules, pay applications, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Identify and report any defects, safety concerns, or non-conforming work
  • Assist with punch lists, final inspections, and project closeout documentation
Skills and Requirements
  • 6+ years of construction inspection or relevant field experience
  • LPA Construction Certification or similar inspection certifications
  • Experience working with contractors in active construction environments
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents
  • Hands-on experience with materials testing (concrete, rebar, etc.)
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background in civil, structural, or related construction disciplines
  • Experience with document management systems
