About the Construction Industry / The Opportunity:
Join a leading construction firm that delivers high‑stakes electrical projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Our client is recognized for its commitment to safety, quality execution, and strong regional relationships in the Kansas City market. As an Electrical Project Manager, you will oversee medium to high voltage projects valued between $1M and $10M, guiding them from pre‑construction through commissioning while driving profitability and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical construction projects valued $1M–$10M from kickoff to closeout.
- Oversee medium and high voltage electrical work across the Kansas City metro area.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Coordinate field operations with superintendents, foremen, owners, engineers, utilities, and subcontractors.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
- Manage procurement and scheduling of major electrical equipment and long‑lead items.
- Identify project risks early and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of electrical construction experience, with project management or senior project engineer roles.
- Proven ability to manage $1M–$10M medium and high voltage electrical projects.
- In‑depth knowledge of medium voltage and high voltage electrical systems and construction practices.
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and field operations.
- Experience controlling project budgets, labor forecasts, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency with electrical construction software, project management platforms, and Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with EPC contracting or complex electrical construction environments.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, ANSI, and NEC codes.
- Knowledge of BIM or CAD tools for electrical design coordination.
- Exposure to advanced project controls software (e.g., Primavera, Procore).
