Keller is looking for an experienced Superintendent based out Texas, Missouri, or Oklahoma supporting our Central Region. Constant travel is required for this role. The Superintendent supervises personnel, equipment, and deliveries at project sites across a region and/or portfolio. Handles scheduling, planning, equipment staging, staff assignments, and enforces quality and safety standards. Oversees Superintendents, Foremen, and/or subcontractors across projects and locations.
Ensures field operations meet company and client expectations, coordinating with the Project Manager for safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery. The role is 80% field work and 20% office tasks.
- Directs daily field activities and supervises field crews and subcontractors.
- Reviews and understands project and contract requirements.
- Coordinates subcontractors and ensures alignment with project goals.
- Leads safety meetings and enforces compliance with safety protocols.
- Tracks production metrics and provides strategic input for efficiency improvements.
- Serves as the liaison between field operations and project management.
- Reviews project requirements and ensures readiness for crew deployment.
- Mentors and trains field staff, supporting their professional development.
- Performs daily job site inspections (as required).
- Responsible for delivering proper Kickoff Meeting to crew.
- Completes daily field log reports (InSite).
- Alerts management of potential project impacts relating to resource management, crew make-up/size and schedule restraints. Oversees all manpower for field activities and monitors crew sizes.
- Assists in equipment rentals as needed. Keeps project team informed to ensure proper Purchase Order updates.
- Ensures equipment is operating safely and is properly maintained. Verifies equipment inspections are being completed as required.
- Confirms work is in compliance with contract requirements, and project plans and specifications.
- Attends job site meetings (as needed).
- Assists the project team during mob/demob process by scheduling trucking, filling out mob applicable documentation, and/or checking on equipment rentals and key items needed to be successful.
- Fully understands and complies with Keller risk management policies and procedures.
- Recognizes major risks and takes appropriate measures to reduce risk to the company.
- Collaborates with Project Manager to track and log any changes to the project; identifies changes that need to be escalated.
- Ensures necessary documentation is collected to identify and determine impact of potential contract changes, disputes, and claims.
- Analyzes targets and goals based on actual production work to determine if schedule or crew adjustments are needed.
- Collaborates with Project Manager on procurement and delivery timelines.
- Tracks production quantities and any potential change order work.
- Ensures crews and subcontractor personnel (if applicable) are in compliance with all Keller, OSHA, and client or owner-specified safety requirements.
- In the event of a safety incident, works in partnership with HSEQ to support employees and project management teams per Keller policy.
- Collaborates with project team in logging all quality nonconformance issues and works with management for resolution.
- Complete management interactions and quality inspections as required. Collaborates with Project Manager to review and understand the expenses that we are incurring on site.
- Exercises stop work authority for safety and quality issues.
- Conducts safety meetings with crews and discusses daily job hazard analysis.
- The responsibilities listed above are minimum expectations for the role. Additional tasks, duties, or responsibilities may be assigned at any time as needed to support branch and company objectives.
- Minimum 5 years experience in supervising construction crews on civil and/or geotechnical construction projects.
- Experience with various drilling techniques and ground improvement methods.
- Good computer skills using MS word, excel and outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent time management, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interface with clients – building relationships.
- Must be willing to travel frequently and for extended periods of time.
