  • $66,000 – $76,000, based on experience

The Production Manager is responsible for the post-sale planning and execution of events, including but not limited to, corporate events, nonprofit events, galas, music events, trade shows, and exhibits. They work directly with the account manager, producer, and operations staff to ensure a successful event and clear expectations for both clients and crew.

This role involves frequent contact and coordination with clients, contractors, vendors, and venue staff. The Production Manager translates the event design and client vision into technical and logistical documentation, crew communication, and strong on-site leadership. Travel is required based on event destinations and responsibilities range from brief pre-event site visits to support of multi-day conferences.

Responsibilities
  • Review scope of work and proposal documents from the sales team, including budgets, concept designs, key contacts, venue requirements, and project schedule.
  • Champion communications and patriciate in regular meetings with key contacts to maintain event expectations and scope.
  • Collaborate with clients and sales team during the contracting process to develop customized design and technology solutions for their project.
  • Translate audiovisual design concepts into accurate technical diagrams utilizing Vectorworks, PDF editors, and similar software.
  • Maintain accurate, updated event requirements and equipment utilization in online management software for company-wide visibility.
  • Provide input on event staffing and coordinate timelines with the Director of Operations to ensure smooth logistics.
  • Collaborate with other Production Managers and operations staff to maximize internal equipment utilization and efficiently secure outside rentals when required.
  • Participate in internal planning meetings, providing updates on event preparation progression, input on resource allocation, and potential challenges.
  • Travel to event destination cities for pre-event site visits and execution of events.
  • Provide on-site audiovisual support as a lead or supporting technician, as required.
  • Complete assigned and required tasks within deadlines as listed in online management software for event needs and in contribution to equipment R&M and warehouse organization.
  • Lead and coordinate contracted labor in varying trades as required and assigned.
  • Assist in the training of others both on-site and in the warehouse.
  • Assist in warehouse and office tasks such as maintaining a clean work environment, gear prep, de-prep, organization, and regular maintenance as needed.
  • Promote job site safety and investigate all safety and reliability concerns; this is a safety sensitive position, a job or position where the employee holding this role has the responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. An employee must be alert and with clear mind and diligent while occupying such positions.
  • Safely transport equipment and crew in company vehicles including non-CDL box trucks. Driving training is provided and must be completed within 90 days. Additional licenses may be required after training.
