Job Description
The University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Dentistry seeks a faculty member for a tenure-eligible Assistant or Associate Professor or ranked non-tenure-track Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is responsible for the education of predoctoral dental students and orthodontic residents, patient care and service in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, and research.
Specific responsibilities of this position include administration of the predoctoral orthodontic education program, provision of instruction for predoctoral dental students and orthodontic residents in the classroom, laboratory, and clinic. Prior clinical orthodontic experience, an MS or equivalent degree, and American Board of Orthodontics certification can be helpful. There are potential opportunities for clinical practice for the qualified candidate.
- This is a ranked 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible tenure-eligible or non-tenure track faculty position.

All applicants must have a certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Residency Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics or equivalent, a DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri Dental Faculty licensure is required and a commitment to teaching and service.
To be considered for a tenure-eligible faculty position, applicants must present:
- an active research schema and demonstrated success or potential for success in obtaining external funding as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator
- prior experience or demonstrated ability to teach didactic and clinical courses in an advanced dental education program, and
- evidence of service to and/or participation in organizations which work to advance dental education and research
Salary is negotiable and commensurate with rank, experience, credentials, and workload.
