Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Dental Assistant to support oral surgery residents in a dental school clinical setting. This position is designed to assist residents during oral surgery procedures, support patient care within the educational environment, and help maintain efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working with residents, faculty, students, and patients. A positive, professional attitude and strong communication skills are essential.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist oral surgery residents during patient care, surgical and sedation procedures using proper four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare, clean, disinfect, and reset surgical operatories before and after patient care.
- Support resident workflow by ensuring instruments, materials, and supplies are available and properly stocked.
- Stay informed of materials, equipment, and procedures commonly used in oral surgery within an academic setting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow all OSHA, infection control, sterilization, safety, and dress code guidelines in accordance with dental school policies.
* Take radiographs using NOMAD and other imaging equipment as directed by residents or faculty.
- Assist with patient preparation and provide basic pre- and post-operative instructions under the direction of residents or faculty.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
- Certifications as required by state/federal law or regulatory agencies is necessary (see preferred qualifications)
- DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification) certified
- Oral surgery/sedation assisting experience.
- Maintain DAANCE re-certification per AAOMS guideline for continued employment
- Maintain BLS and ACLS for continued employment
- CPR BLS certified.
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as up to $21.00 per hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
