PARAPROFESSIONAL, ACADEMIC INTERVENTIONIST
JOB GOAL: To assist in the implementation of all aspects of the building’s academic intervention support program, including, but not limited to, the delivery of researched based intervention strategies to individual students as well as small groups of students, and progress monitoring of those students.
Qualifications- A minimum of thirty‑sixty college hours from an accredited college or university is required, pass the Paraprofessional test in the State of Missouri or Missouri 20‑hour Online Substitute Training Program, sixty college hours is preferred.
- A valid Missouri Teaching Certificate is preferred.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
Building Principal
Performance Responsibilities- Supports academic intervention initiatives.
- Assists academic team in developing plans for being successful in the classroom.
- Provides mentoring and small group instruction to students.
- Collects and documents data, related reports, and child records for the purpose of ongoing intervention service planning and review.
- Assists school staff for the purpose of implementing intervention strategies to follow specified academic management plans.
- Collaborates with the school team and district team for the purpose of implementing the intervention plans.
- Participates in professional development opportunities.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as expected of a fully licensed teacher.
- May be assigned limited clerical duties such as filing, typing, etc.
- Adheres to good safety practices.
- Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.
