Job Description PURPOSE OF JOB
:
Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with practices by emphasizing the importance of teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student‑athlete improvementAssist with engaging in academic monitoring with teachers, counselors, and other academic support staffHelp supervise student‑athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. The assistant coach will be at all practices and games on time and not leave until all student‑athletes have leftHelp assume responsibility for the constant care of equipment and inventory being usedFollow through on all required paperwork, including rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent formsHelp provide information for transportation, facilities, officials, and game managementEthically conduct team and self during practices and contests, always exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanshipAssist in the coordination of the programPromote student athletes’ accomplishments academically and athleticallyContinue professional growth through clinics and professional publicationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Student‑athletes
