26/27 Middle School Assistant Boys Soccer Coach (Foreign Language Academy)

Kansas City School District – KCMO 4350 – Foreign Language Academy – Kansas City, Missouri.
Starting Date: Immediately

Purpose of Job: Provide instruction, leadership and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program.

• Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student‑athlete improvement.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other academic support staff for academic monitoring.
• Supervise student‑athletes before, during, and after practices and contests—including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. The assistant coach will be present for all practices and games, remaining until all student‑athletes have left.
• Maintain constant care of equipment and inventory.
• Complete required paperwork: rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms.
• Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management.
• Conduct oneself and the team in an ethical manner during practices and contests, exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship.
• Assist in coordinating the program.
• Promote student athletes’ achievements academically and athletically.
• Pursue professional growth through clinics and professional publications.

Student‑athletes

• Must have a Teachers Certificate or a valid Substitute Certificate or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate.

• Be a full‑time or part‑time employee in the District.
• Employed in the school as a teacher or administrator in which the candidate applies for a position.

The position requires the employee to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Salary: $2,000 – $2,000 Per Year
