The Assistant Director of Recruitment and Campus visits will apply evidence-based practices in recruitment and collaborate across theUMKC School of Medicine programs to recruitment students representative of the state of Missouri and region and the needs ofthe programs they are being recruited to.

The Assistant Director of Recruitment and Campus visits recruits for the BA/MD, MD, AA, PA, and graduate programs at the Universityof Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine. These programs serve students across three UMKC SOM Missouri campuses:
Kansas City,Columbia, and St. Joseph. The school is best known for its accelerated six-year BA/MD program, which matriculates 105 students directly from high school each year. Admissions is housed withinthe Office of Student Affairs, and The Assistant Director of Recruitment and Campus visits reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions. The Assistant Director of Recruitment is supported by aRecruitment Coordinator, and works closely with the BA/MD, MD, AAand PA program directors.

• Provide vision, leadership, and direction for recruitment programs in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Admissions and program directors.
• Foster a culture of inclusive excellence during recruitment processes.
• Partner with Student Affairs, Council on Evaluation, Committee on Progression, and the Council on Curriculum to identify factors affecting student progression and incorporate findings into recruiting practices.
• Collaborate on public relations and marketing activities toensure effective and accurate representation of the school in recruiting efforts.

• Manages the day-to-day operations of the School of Medicine recruitment initiatives. Provides direction to the Admissions teamon weekly recruitment events and logistics. Coordinates operations of recruitment portal and Slate CRM database. Supervises the Recruitment Coordinator through delegation and task management.
• Develops, plans, and directs School of Medicine recruitment efforts for all academic programs, including creating presentations and leading Campus Visit Days, evening receptions, and counselor/advisor events. Works closely with UMKC's General Admissions office in collaboration with joint visits and events.
  
  Provides weekly presentations and individual appointments for prospective students.
• Oversees recruitment initiatives focused on early decision/Scholars programs, maintains contact with academic advisors at partner institutions, plans events with student organizations at partner institutions, and identifies methods for increasing awareness of program. Collaborates with representative sat Schools of Nursing, Dentistry, and Pharmacy to execute Health Science District events in collaboration with external organizations such as PrepKC. Develops and maintains strong liaisons with School of Medicine and UMKC admissions personnel.
  
  Instructs and advises support staff on relevant recruitment activities.
• Researches, develops, and travels to recruitment events,including college fairs, high school visits, and evening reception sin Missouri, Kansas, and other locations as identified.
  
  Collaborates with the recruitment Coordinator for the St. Joseph regional campus for recruitment activities for that campus.
  
  Dedicates significant amount of time and preparation to statewide travel with the Dean of the school of Medicine.
• Manages, selects, trains, and advises 80+ current students serving as volunteer representatives in the School of Medicine Student Ambassador program.
