Job DescriptionThe University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy seeks a highly motivated individual for an assistant professorship in the Division of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position is a 12‑month, full‑time, ranked, tenure‑track faculty position located on the UMKC Hospital Hill campus in the vibrant Health Sciences District at the center of Kansas City, MO.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of accomplishment in research, teaching, and scholarship that complements the existing strengths of the division and unit. Candidates with research focused in toxicology, particularly environment and/or industrial toxicology, who can make inroads into health problems that affect Missourians are preferred. A record of publications and funding is ideal for this position.
Graduates will initiate and maintain an extramurally‑funded research program that will support the training and mentoring of students in our PhD program and contribute to the R1 status of our university. Candidates will be expected to train PharmD students in appropriate coursework and contribute to our certificate program.
The division has state‑of‑the‑art facilities including an Agilent 6495 triple‑quad LC‑MS/MS, a Shimadzu 9030 QToF high‑resolution LC‑MS/MS, DSC, TGA, zetasizer, and shared resources such as proteomics and confocal microscopy. An AAALAC‑accredited animal research facility and the Data Science and Analytics Innovation Center support multi‑disciplinary research.

Qualifications- PhD, MD/DO, and/or PharmD with teaching experience in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of postdoctoral training or equivalent experience.
- Excellent background of primary research publications in high‑impact scientific journals.
- Possess a genuine passion for research and teaching.
- Experience and/or training in teaching and mentorship in higher education.
- Experience working in or with governmental organizations at the state or federal level.
