Purpose Statement
The job of School Age Child Care
- Site Manager is done for the purpose/s of overseeing site staff, and children, providing support to the instructional program within the assigned building; creates and fosters a professional relationship with building staff and administration; creating lesson plans using curriculum, organizing and directing age-appropriate activities for infants, preschool, and Kindergarten-8th grade students; working with a diverse group of students with a variety of abilities and needs;
ensuring staff obtain required certifications, adapt activities and materials, integrate and individualize curricula for all students, and assisting in developing a learning environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and collaboration; supporting program staff in the daily operation of the program
Essential Functions
- Administers a variety of site activities (e.g. club time and craft activities. Family events, literacy nights, STEM nights, community service projects, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring program philosophy and curriculum are followed.
- Assists with contacting substitutes for staff for the purpose of ensures program quality and safety is maintained.
- Attends meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of gathering information required to perform functions.
- Communicates with internal and external personnel (e.g. teachers, parents, other school and outside agency personnel, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information required to perform job functions.
- Fosters positive individual relationships with students, parents, and staff for the purpose of building student confidence and self esteem and/or positive relationships.
- Greets individuals wishing to enter the building and allows authorized entrance (e.g. check in/out students, parents, and SACC staff, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring building security and directing individuals within the building as needed.
- Maintains assigned area (e.g. setting up assigned program spaces, doing bulletin boards and follow district and state cleaning guidelines, etc.) for the purpose of creating a clean, comfortable, stimulating, and/or supportive environment.
- Manages assigned projects and activities (e.g. reports, forms, goals, set-up, clean-up, drills, lesson plans, inventory, schedule, etc.) for the purpose of meeting established timelines and objectives.
- Monitors student plans (e.g. IEP, 504, behavior, etc.) for the purpose of observing, documenting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with established plans.
- Monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. classroom, rest rooms, playgrounds, hallways, bus loading zones, cafeteria, parking lots, library, field trips, assemblies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Prepares a variety of written documents and/or materials (e.g. correspondence, program descriptions, parent notices, files, reports, request purchase orders, manage shopping budget, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- Prepares school program and/or activities appropriate for individuals and small or large groups (e.g. program schedule, club time activities, lesson plans, science, art, family events, program celebrations and staff events, etc.) for the purpose of implementing program goals and objectives.
- Provides ongoing feedback for the purpose of informing supervisor, staff, teacher, and parents of students' progress and collaborating as is needed and/or helpful.
- Supervises staff and students for assigned site (e.g. manage attendance process for drop off and pick-up of students, maintain required ratios, follow cleaning guidelines, practice safety drills as directed. Monitor camera system to ensure that only authorized parents and staff are admitted into the building, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the site functions in a safe and efficient manner.
