Job Description Special Education Resource Teacher Hourly Rate: $50-$55

Kansas City, MOOnsite – School Setting Position Summary RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a Special Education Resource Teacher for a school-based opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. This position may begin part-time for the 2026–2027 school year, with the opportunity to take on substitute teaching responsibilities and participate in job shadowing. The school is looking for someone who can provide special education resource support this year, with the potential to transition into a full-time contract for the 2027–2028 school year.

This could be a great opportunity for an educator looking to build a relationship with the school while gaining additional experience and potentially moving into a long-term full-time role.

To be determined with the school Key Duties  Provide specialized instruction and academic support to students receiving special education services  Support students in a resource setting based on their individualized educational needs  Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, related service providers, and administrators  Assist with implementing student accommodations, modifications, and educational goals  Maintain appropriate student documentation and monitor progress  Provide substitute classroom coverage as needed and agreed upon with the school  Participate in job shadowing and other opportunities to become familiar with the school’s programs and students Requirements Education  Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field Licenses & Certifications  Appropriate Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification for the assignment  Required school and state clearances must be completed prior to placement Skills  Strong communication and collaboration skills  Ability to provide individualized academic support to students with varying learning needs  Strong classroom management and organizational skills  Flexibility to support both special education resource services and substitute teaching responsibilities  Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Benefits Per Diem / Temporary Hourly Roles  Comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision  Company-paid Basic Life/AD&D and Long-Term Disability for employees working 30+ hours per week  Paid sick leave may be available based on hours worked and state laws  Benefit offerings are subject to legal requirements, eligibility status, and work location  Employees age 21 and older can participate in the 401(k) Savings Plan About Us RCM Healthcare Services works with professionals across schools, healthcare, and community-based settings nationwide.
