Rail Site Development Engineer – Transportation (Multiple Locations)

As a Rail Site Development Engineer, you will assist in the rail site development design aspects for industrial development projects of all sizes, working with a multi‑discipline engineering team.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate work associated with the study and/or design of civil site development infrastructure systems, including rail and stormwater.
- Coordinate activities of several disciplines for projects of significant or moderate scope, or a combination of smaller projects.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members; assist in supervising staff and task management on major projects.
- Regularly coordinate with design team members, clients, sub‑consultants, utility companies, or other project stakeholders.
- Work with a multi‑discipline team of engineers and technicians in the site civil design and analysis related to rail projects.
- Perform tasks requiring applications of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures; standard design of civil project work.
- Assist task leaders and project managers; serve as a team member on multi‑disciplined projects; work with senior staff on technical aspects of a project.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related ABET‑accredited program and at least 7 years of civil engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and at least 7 years of civil engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least 6 years of civil engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures; strong computer skills (AutoCAD, Micro Station, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, RISA‑3D, MathCADD, hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members; ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical skills in a quantitative problem‑solving environment.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred
