Lead Structural Project Engineer

Blue Scope has been a leader in building solutions for over 100 years, and we’re looking for a Lead Structural Project Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our industry.

The Lead Structural Project Engineer provides project management services that meet or exceed customer expectations throughout the life of the project and serves as the single point of contact for the project. The role includes timely and concise verbal and written communications, prompt response to customer requests, and sound risk‑management to ensure project profitability objectives are met. The Engineer supports and engages in a collaborative work environment, building trust among peers and customers, and provides design guidance to the design team, resulting in practical and economical building solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis
• Registered Professional Engineer certification
• 5 years of experience designing and/or managing structural steel building projects in one or more of the following areas:
  • Truss framed buildings and long span structures
  • Heavy industrial crane buildings, including crane runway details for heavy cranes and long span crane runways
  • Highly architectural commercial buildings
• Knowledge of IBC, AISC, AISE 13, MBMA codes and guidelines
• Experience with one or more of the following programs: STAAD, RISA, RAM, SAP 2000, Revit, Tekla, AutoCAD, and company proprietary software
• Connection design ability – able to develop practical framing and connection solutions that are cost‑effective to detail, fabricate, and erect
