Structural Detailer​/Engineering Technician

We are in need of multiple Structural Detailers in Kansas City, MO. In this position, you will be responsible for building structural steel construction models and creating parts, fabrication, and installation drawings for large manufacturing plants. Structural plate and mild steel drafting and detailing experience is preferred. AutoCAD is required. Tekla is preferred.

• Associate or 2-year technical degree or 2 additional years of relevant experience or completion of Blue Scope Buildings Drafting Program in lieu of degree

Bachelor’s degree Some Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) or conventional steel experience CAD training (preferred only)

• Detail building parts and create fabrication drawings from engineering design and project notes
• Create erection drawings, approval drawings, permit drawings, and anchor rod drawings
• Develop own basic product and procedure knowledge and improve technical knowledge
• Upload parts and edit parts into the manufacturing system and release to manufacturing
• Collaborate with project teams to discuss problems and challenges and help create solutions to move forward in a cost-effective and efficient manner
• Assure customer service needs are met by meeting schedules
• Focus on achieving department objective and profitability goals and continuous improvement as part of a high-performance work team
