The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with industrial clients and projects and the ability to independently develop detailed, accurate, and competitive electrical estimates.

This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems in complex industrial environments, a hands‑on approach to estimating development, and a collaborative spirit when working with engineering, project management, and construction leadership teams.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and related bid documents
  • Develop detailed electrical cost estimates from concept through the bid submittal stage
  • Identify and communicate scope gaps, constructability issues, and risk items
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes for materials and services
  • Build labor and material estimates based on historical data and current market conditions
  • Prepare bid proposals, written scopes of work, and pricing breakdowns
  • Participate in pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and post‑bid reviews as needed
  • Collaborate with project teams to support handoff, buyout, and budgeting processes
  • Assist project managers with change order pricing and schedule impacts
  • Support and mentor estimators, and assist in the development of department tools and processes
  • Ensure alignment of estimates with safety protocols, labor laws, and code compliance
  • Build preliminary electrical schedules and assist in resource planning for project delivery
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work closely with sales engineers to scope project needs
  • Coordinate with mechanical and structural estimators to integrate multidisciplinary estimates
  • Support lessons‑learned discussions to refine future estimates and project strategies
  • Maintain and develop vendor and subcontractor relationships for competitive pricing
  • Use historical project data and feedback to improve estimating accuracy and value
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field)
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating for industrial projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
  • Proficiency with estimating software tools such as Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and other relevant codes and standards
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Field experience or prior electrician/electrical construction background is a strong plus
  • Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
