SummaryThe Configuration Management Analyst I role participates in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, and accounting for systems and or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements. Establishes procedures for the introduction of changes to engineering documents for an assigned program. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing and engineering data control activities.
Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
- Evaluates and analyzes draft engineering authorizations for compatibility with current product definition as represented in the latest issue of the drawing plus any outstanding unincorporated engineering authorizations.
- Assesses need and coordinates related engineering authorizations applicable to next assemblies or acceptance equipment. Assists engineering personnel with incorporation instructions and material disposition.
- Assists in determining implementation plans and effectivity recommendations for engineering authorizations (based on flow times, part availability, and schedules) to be coordinated with material control analysts /master scheduling/program management in implementing changes to bills of material, PIDs and customer orders with configuration management specialist supervision. Initiates recall and rework of product based on incorporation of engineering authorizations.
- Coordinates CM (configuration management) requirements with interfacing organization and customer representatives (master scheduling, material control analysts, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control and program management) to negotiate and ensure requirements are incorporated.
- Initiates revisions to engineering authorizations, as needed.
- Reviews and resolves schedule problems using ERP software application and coordinates resolution with the responsible material control analysts and master schedulers.
- Updates MBOM (manufacturing bill of material) as defined on AMLs (Automated Material Lists), parts lists, package drawings, 461
Es and engineering authorizations in accordance with the Condition of Release code specified on the EDR (Engineering Drawing Release) or Indented EDR with Configuration Management Specialist, Sr supervision. Assign prefixes and delete restrictions as required. - Establishes and maintains item master attributes. Coordinates changes and the associated impact with other organizations. Audits records and develops corrective actions to assure data accuracy.
- Maintains current MBOM files reflecting additions, deletions and revisions with supporting documentation. Maintains EDRs that restrict fabrication and/or procurement. Maintains engineering authorization files.
- Assists in incorporating usage of processing material in the MBOM as defined by the AML or 461E with Configuration Management Analyst supervision.
- Develops, revises and maintains divisional procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance. Assists in the development of innovations in departmental systems and functions. Conducts routine and special studies that involve compiling data, analyzing results, preparing and maintaining documentation and proposing and implementing recommendations. Serves on various committees and task forces as assigned.
- Maintains professional contact and participates in CM associations and activities. Recommends change to improve business processes.
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical field or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
