Job Summary
Project Civil Engineer / Project Manager required in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on planning, design, permitting, and managing civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects, while overseeing staff training and client relations. Key responsibilities include leading project lifecycle from concept to completion across diverse market sectors such as healthcare, higher education, commercial, and mixed‑use.
Job Responsibilities- Lead planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects and coordinate client communication.
- Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control from concept through completion.
- Develop new client relationships and maintain existing ones.
- Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines, minimizing write‑offs to keep projects on budget.
- Write reports and proposals—including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports.
- Apply hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design, including SWPPP preparation and water‑quality compliance.
- Collaborate with office leadership on growth plans and staff utilization.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Valid Professional Engineer license.
- 6+ years of related site/civil land development experience.
- Knowledge of local land‑use processes and regulations.
- Strong client development, communication, and management skills.
- Experience designing site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control from concept through completion.
- Demonstrated project management from concept through construction documents.
- Self‑starter capable of motivating, mentoring, and leading others.
- Ability to work well on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Expertise in stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and SWPPP preparation.
- Experience with technical and proposal writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D (preferred).
- Strong teamwork and independent work skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
