- Manage multiple civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction administration.
- Lead project delivery, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Provide technical oversight and review of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Ensure projects meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Monitor project financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with internal and external project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and consultants.
- Provide technical guidance and problem‑solving support to project teams.
- Review and approve project deliverables prior to client submission.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Participate in proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and scope development.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and expand existing client relationships.
- Support business development, marketing, and networking initiatives.
- Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and industry events.
- Support department planning, resource forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining engineering standards, best practices, and quality assurance procedures.
- Monitor project schedules and resource utilization to optimize department performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 7–14 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; PE strongly preferred and may be required based on business needs.
- Demonstrated experience managing civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising technical staff.
- Experience with in an engineering consulting environment preferred.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting and regulatory processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and common civil engineering design software.
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and financial management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, employee development, and customer service.
- Established client relationships and business development experience.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proven track record of developing and mentoring junior engineers.
- Experience supporting departmental growth and operational planning.
