Assistant Electrical Designer - NIA

Job Description

The Assistant Electrical Designer supports the design and execution of Network, Integration & Automation projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role contributes to planning, site evaluations, design development, and construction documentation across a diverse portfolio of projects and clients.

• Support electrical design efforts for data center projects, including routing, Wi‑Fi infrastructure, and coordination across project teams
• Design and model telecommunications systems, including:
  • Inside and outside plant pathway infrastructure
  • Equipment layouts
  • Structured cabling systems
  • 3D BIM/Revit models
• Set up and maintain telecommunications Revit models at project kickoff
• Develop engineering drawings from sketches, notes, and verbal direction using Revit and CAD tools
• Assist with design calculations, system sizing, and technical problem‑solving on complex assignments
• Produce initial designs, sketches, and redline markups with limited oversight
• Apply applicable design codes, standards, and specifications
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to resolve design issues
• Support BIM coordination and ensure model quality, accuracy, and data integrity
• Track and manage drawing revisions and project documentation
• Deliver work within scope, schedule, and budget constraints

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience OR
  • Associate Degree and 3 years of experience
  • High School degree and 4 years of experience
• Experience designing in Revit
• Experience with Electrical OR telecommunications design – RCDD Certification
