Bridge Structural Engineer

Our client is an engineering consulting firm that offers a wide variety of design and development services. The team of professionals are made up of approximately 200 employees located in office throughout Missouri, Florida, and Arkansas. They are an employee-owned company that has grown from three to ten offices in the last five years. They are looking for enthusiastic team members to be a part of their firm’s family.

Our client has an outstanding opportunity for a structural engineer to work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians on the analysis, design, and plan production for structural bridge projects. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can manage projects with oversight from proposal phase to construction administration. This position requires an individual that enjoys working in a team environment and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Bridge design, contract plans preparation and specifications requiring quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets and schedules
• Developing and analyzing design options
• Maintaining organized design calculation and project data
• Performing load ratings analysis
• Calculation of quantities and development of cost estimates
• The position may require the engineer to take part in bridge inspection assignments as an Inspection Team Member and prepare bridge inspection reports documenting inspection findings.
• Prepare Engineer Reports & Studies
• Prepare Proposals and Contracts
• Prepare Construction Estimates

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Structural Engineering
• Licensed PE required
• 5+ years experience designing bridge structures
• Experience using structural design software
• Ability to understand construction concepts and how components work together
• Familiar with interpreting engineering contract documents and codes
• Possess the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with a variety of professionals
• Strong problem solving skills
• Capable of working independently with little supervision while being an effective member of a larger team
• Able to effectively manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
