The M/E Engineer will complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. This position will be responsible for collecting and assembling data, developing estimates and generating systems and bid analysis. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

ME ENGINEER FAMILY – CORE

• Proconstruction assistance: provide cost estimating assistance to the preconstruction team. This includes providing input on conceptual and schematic designs to ensure the preconstruction team's cost estimate has accounted for all process system components early in the design process. Provide feedback on constructability and value engineering ideas as the design progresses. Assist with the bid analysis and selection of the process system trade partners.
• Design assistance: review and provide input on the process systems designs. This includes review of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and associated process system and piping plans to ensure compliance with codes, standards and project requirements.
• Submittal reviews: review process piping and system submittals to ensure compliance with construction documents.
• Testing plans: work with operations team to ensure all required process system testing plans are accounted for and meet project requirements. Review test results to confirm compliance.
• Inspections: inspect process systems throughout construction to ensure they are being installed per code and project requirements.
• Closeout: work with commissioning team and trade partners to confirm all process systems are installed and operate correctly. Assist with troubleshooting components that aren't operating correctly to achieve final completion of the project.
• Learn and actively participate in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury‑free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
• Learn how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
• Assist in the review of mechanical and electrical options as part of the preconstruction process and complete systems analysis for select projects.
• Learn to develop the mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.
• Assist in developing sequencing requirements of various systems and providing solutions to meet the schedule requirements.
• Gain knowledge of design documents in order to identify potential quality problems to assist in developing constructability review reports.
• Learn to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.
• Learn and assist with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with the contract documents.
• Assist with the commissioning process including developing pre‑functional checklists, functional testing procedures and actual functional testing.
