Position: Senior Project Control Specialist (Scheduler / Planner)

Senior Project Control Specialist (Scheduler / Planner)

12 months contract, Kansas City, MO (Onsite).

$58 to $63 hourly. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities
  • The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Presents schedule status reports to project management team and client. Validate proper set-up and management of the Primavera P6 Project Schedule(s).
  • Analyze data, logs, and reports in the suite of project controls tools.
  • Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized and accuracy of schedule management and forecast reporting.
  • Develop effective scheduling reports for projects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project controls execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team.
  • Review upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
  • Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM), presentation of Project Controls reporting when required
  • Validate schedule progress and perform schedule what-if scenarios
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques.
  • Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
  • Analyze progress measurement and progress curves.
  • Review material takeoffs. Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • If assigned to the field, perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
  • Perform Project Forensic Analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience
  • Key skills;
    Must have 7-10 years of experience in Project Control, Planning & Scheduling utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Candidate should have experience in leading project control process, present schedule status reports, team and client management.
  • Candidate should have experience in supporting utility infrastructure projects e.g. T&D/electric utility, oil & gas and or similar grid type of infrastructure experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. and 7 years direct project controls experience.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain.
