We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Acoustics Consultant to provide consulting, analysis, and design services for the built environment. This position is ideal for an acoustical professional who is ready to take greater ownership of projects, independently solve complex technical challenges, and serve as a trusted resource to clients and project teams. The Acoustics Consultant will manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical quality, responsiveness, schedules, budgets, and client expectations while collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and other Branch Pattern disciplines to develop thoughtful, practical acoustical solutions that contribute to a Better Built Environment.

The Acoustics Consultant is responsible for the successful execution of acoustical consulting and design services across multiple projects, requiring strong technical expertise, independent judgment, effective coordination, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities include:- Lead and perform architectural acoustics, sound isolation, building systems noise and vibration control analyses, calculations, modeling, and performance evaluations.
- Establish acoustical criteria based on owner requirements, applicable codes and standards, industry best practices, and project-specific goals.
- Develop acoustical recommendations, design strategies, specifications, details, narratives, reports, markups, and other deliverables throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related design documents for compliance with established acoustical criteria.
- Interpret modeling and analysis results and translate technical findings into practical, constructible design recommendations.
- Coordinate acoustical scope and recommendations with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and other project stakeholders, including participation in client and project team meetings.
- Conduct field measurements, site observations, existing-condition assessments, construction-phase reviews, and construction administration activities, including RFIs and submittal reviews.
- Independently manage assigned project tasks and scopes while maintaining schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and proactive communication regarding project status, risks, scope changes, and resource needs.
- Support the development of project scopes, level-of-effort estimates, proposals, and fee recommendations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and quality review to less-experienced staff.
- Collaborate across Branch Pattern disciplines to deliver integrated solutions and cohesive building designs.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of acoustical standards, calculation tools, templates, details, specifications, quality-control processes, and industry knowledge through continued awareness of emerging technologies, research, codes, standards, and best practices.
Our customers are both internal and external to the organization. Internally, you will collaborate with project managers, project executives, consultants, and specialists across Branch Pattern disciplines. Externally, you will work directly with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners across markets including Civic, Industrial, Healthcare, Higher Education, Government, and K-12.
Qualified Candidates Preferably Possess- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience in acoustical consulting, building design, or a related field, with demonstrated ability to independently execute project work. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience with architectural acoustics, sound isolation, building systems noise and vibration control, and the development of acoustical recommendations throughout multiple phases of building design and construction.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings and specifications.
