Design Engineer- BAS​/HVAC Controls

A leading technology solutions integration company specializing in security and HVAC solutions.

We are offering a Design Engineer role with a salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year. The position is headquartered in Kansas City, with minimal travel required.

We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and development of building automation and mechanical system solutions for commercial and industrial projects.

• Design and develop HVAC mechanical systems and/or building automation control systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
• Create control drawings, submittals, sequences of operation, system architecture layouts, and design documentation.
• Support BAS/DDC system design including controllers, field devices, networking, and integration strategies.
• Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, contractors, engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review project specifications, mechanical plans, and control requirements.
• Assist with equipment selection, controls integration, and energy‑efficient system strategies.
• Support commissioning efforts and technical troubleshooting as needed.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.

• Experience with HVAC mechanical design, Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC), or both.
• Understanding of commercial HVAC systems, controls integration, and mechanical equipment operation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, control schematics, and construction documents.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or related design software preferred.
• Familiarity with BAS platforms, controls sequences, and system networking is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
