Shift 1 (United States of America) Position Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical execution and coordination of pneumatic conveying, material handling, and dust collection system projects from order receipt through commissioning and project closeout. This role works within a Project Management & Automation Team and serves as the primary engineering resource for assigned projects, coordinating with customers, vendors, manufacturing, automation, and installation teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Projects may range from standalone systems valued between $500K and $2M to larger turnkey system installations. The Project Engineer may provide technical direction and task assignments to Project Design Engineers and other project team members while supporting project scope, schedule, and successful delivery.
- Execute projects from order receipt through design, customer approval, manufacturing, delivery, commissioning, and customer turnover.
- Coordinate activities with project managers, customers, vendors, manufacturing, automation, and installation teams.
- Serve as a primary or secondary customer contact throughout project execution.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) with appropriate equipment tagging and process information.
- Create and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Review, define, and specify OEM-manufactured and vendor-supplied equipment.
- Coordinate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to obtain and review equipment drawings and technical documentation.
- Generate preliminary equipment stack‑up drawings and detailed system layout drawings.
- Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain project drawing packages, document control, and engineering records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor engineering deliverables and provide schedule updates to Project Managers and customers.
- Identify project risks, technical issues, and potential schedule impacts; proactively support resolution efforts.
- Coordinate with suppliers, installation contractors, and field service resources.
- Support the development and administration of installation subcontract documentation.
- Participate in customer design reviews and approval meetings.
- Support change order development and project documentation updates as required.
- Conduct site visits, equipment inspections, commissioning activities, startup support, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with warranty support and resolution activities following project completion.
- Strong problem‑solving, mechanical troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to lead technical aspects of projects, make sound decisions, and maintain project organization.

- Ability to interpret customer specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or equivalent CAD software.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional project environment.
- Knowledge of pneumatic conveying principles and applications.
- Experience with bulk material handling systems and equipment.
