Elevator Consultant / QEI Inspector – Federal Facilities

Kansas City, MO | Full-Time | On-Site with Regional Travel

Base Salary: $100,000–$120,000 Annually

$10,000 Relocation or Signing Bonus Available

The Opportunity

Clear Global Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Elevator Consultant / Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) to support elevator and vertical transportation systems at federal facilities throughout the Kansas City region.

This position serves as a regional technical expert responsible for inspections, condition assessments, maintenance oversight, modernization planning, technical reviews, cost estimating, and program documentation. The successful candidate will help ensure the safety, reliability, compliance, and long-term performance of critical vertical transportation systems.

The relocation or signing bonus is subject to applicable eligibility requirements and the terms of a written bonus agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect elevators and other vertical transportation systems at multiple federal facilities.
  • Conduct condition assessments and identify safety, reliability, maintenance, repair, and modernization needs.
  • Evaluate equipment performance, maintenance quality, code compliance, and contractor work.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, contractor proposals, designs, reports, and submittals.
  • Support acceptance inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
  • Develop technical findings, corrective-action recommendations, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare independent government estimates and evaluate contractor pricing.
  • Provide technical guidance to contractors, facility teams, project managers, and government stakeholders.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance, repairs, deficiencies, and recurring equipment issues.
  • Manage regional vertical transportation information within the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Track inspection findings, corrective actions, equipment condition, maintenance performance, and project status.
  • Support elevator modernization and construction projects from planning through final acceptance.
  • Prepare inspection reports, technical memoranda, program updates, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
  • Current or in the process of obtaining a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification
    .
  • Substantial experience inspecting, evaluating, maintaining, repairing, modernizing, or consulting on elevator and vertical transportation systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable ASME elevator codes, inspection requirements, safety standards, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, inspection records, maintenance documentation, and contractor submissions.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, repair or modernization recommendations, and cost estimates.
  • Strong written communication, technical documentation, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple facilities, inspections, and technical priorities.
  • Ability to travel regularly among facilities throughout the assigned region.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for the required federal security clearance or background investigation.
