GROUP SALES EVENT TEAM MEMBER (PART TIME)

POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Group Sales Event Team Member is responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of group events, ensuring the experience meets Zoo & Aquarium event standards. This position also assists with various administrative tasks leading up to events, including but not limited to, booking events, creating signage, and communicating with the Zoo & Aquarium staff about group event needs.
POSITION DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSGroup Sales and Event Operations (50%)- Assisting Reservationist and Sales Manager with booking, planning, and executing scheduled events.
- Printing tickets, updating event orders, and communicating with Zoo & Aquarium staff about group event needs.
- Creating group event signage and posting in designated areas.
- Facilitating group events autonomously with attention to detail, executing all duties in a timely manner, and proactively anticipating group needs as they arise.
- Keeping work area clean at all times.
- Greeting and welcoming all guests in a manner that establishes a positive guest experience.
- Maintaining knowledge of all aspects of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium to answer guest inquiries, promote programs/events, and assist with emergency procedures.
- Assisting in the general cleanliness of the Zoo & Aquarium grounds.
- Being willing and ready to assist other departments to provide a seamless guest experience.
- This position may at times be requested to perform other duties or special projects as assigned, which are in the best interest of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with all types of people professionally and effectively.
Minimum Requirements
- This is an active and dynamic role that will require employees to be in a stationary position for extended periods of time, move around to complete job duties, and move up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Assistance depending upon task or role.
- This role will require employees to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass background and drug screening.
