The Group Sales Event Team Member is responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of group events, ensuring the experience meets Zoo & Aquarium event standards. This position also assists with various administrative tasks leading up to events, including but not limited to, booking events, creating signage, and communicating with the Zoo & Aquarium staff about group event needs.

• Assisting Reservationist and Sales Manager with booking, planning, and executing scheduled events.
• Printing tickets, updating event orders, and communicating with Zoo & Aquarium staff about group event needs.
• Creating group event signage and posting in designated areas.
• Facilitating group events autonomously with attention to detail, executing all duties in a timely manner, and proactively anticipating group needs as they arise.
• Keeping work area clean at all times.

• Greeting and welcoming all guests in a manner that establishes a positive guest experience.
• Maintaining knowledge of all aspects of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium to answer guest inquiries, promote programs/events, and assist with emergency procedures.

• Assisting in the general cleanliness of the Zoo & Aquarium grounds.
• Being willing and ready to assist other departments to provide a seamless guest experience.

• This position may at times be requested to perform other duties or special projects as assigned, which are in the best interest of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all types of people professionally and effectively.

• This is an active and dynamic role that will require employees to be in a stationary position for extended periods of time, move around to complete job duties, and move up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Assistance depending upon task or role.
• This role will require employees to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass background and drug screening.
