Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. This individual will lead day‑to‑day financial activities, ensure accuracy and compliance, and provide strategic insights that support operational and business growth. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the accounting team, including AP, AR, payroll, and client accounting functions.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.

• Ensure efficient and accurate management of invoice processing, vendor relationships, and payment cycles.
• Oversee billing, collections, cash applications, and credit processes to optimize working capital.

• Supervise payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timely completion, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Partner with HR on compensation changes, employee onboarding/offboarding, and benefits-related payroll items.
• Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team, promoting accountability and professional growth.
• Collaborate closely with operations, HR, and leadership to drive financial strategy and process improvements.
• Provide financial insights, forecasting, and analysis to support decision‑making.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Manage annual audits, external reporting, and coordination with auditors and tax professionals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
• Experience overseeing AP, AR, payroll, and client accounting functions.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms; strong Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
