Position: Tax Manager - $110 - $150k

Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client recruit their next Tax Manager. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, tax return preparation and review, and reporting for the companies, including trusts, partnerships, investment vehicles, and charitable foundations. The role will also include other Financial Accounting tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a confidential environment.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations in consultation with outside tax firms.
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of all tax obligations.
  • Respond and resolve tax notices
  • Tax Planning
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize after-tax returns and minimize liabilities.
  • Advise on tax implications of investments, transactions, and estate planning.
  • Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax projections and reports for family members and entities.
  • Coordination
  • Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal counsel as needed.
  • Collaborate with investment and accounting teams to ensure integrated financial planning.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and best practices affecting individuals and family office clients.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and state requirements, including estimated tax payments and disclosures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years but 7-10 years of progressive tax experience is preferred working with individuals, trusts, and partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws, estate and gift tax, and investment taxation.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • Experience in a family office or private wealth management environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and complex structures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
