Position Title
Accounts Receivable / Credit & Collections Specialist
OverviewWe are seeking an Accounts Receivable / Credit & Collections Specialist to join a growing finance team in Kansas City. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, communicate confidently with customers, and take ownership of their portfolio. This is a great opportunity to join a stable, long-tenured, and family-oriented team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage collections and customer accounts by owning an assigned portfolio and executing collection activities (calls, emails, follow-ups) to reduce overdue balances.
- Monitor aging reports and proactively address delinquent accounts based on risk and priority.
- Contact customers to collect outstanding balances and negotiate payment commitments.
- Partner with dealership locations and internal teams to drive collections actions and resolve account issues.
- Review account status to identify credit risk, escalate concerns, and support credit hold or order release decisions.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to align collections efforts with business needs.
- Maintain accurate customer records and ensure compliance with internal credit policies and procedures.
- 2–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, or related finance roles.
- Proven experience communicating directly with customers to resolve payment issues and manage outstanding balances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to have business conversations.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑driven, independent worker with a go‑getter mindset.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with SAP (ECC or S/4
HANA) is a plus.
- Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite (Tuesday–Thursday) and 2 days remote.
- Target total compensation starting at $60k annually and going up based on experience PLUS bonus potential.
