Location:
On-site in Greenwood Village, CO or Kansas City, MO. Not remote.
The Senior Review Appraiser will utilize Mercury Network to track residential real estate appraisals/evaluations, review appraisals for compliance with USPAP and FIRREA, evaluate reasonableness of concluded values, and interact with associates, management, clients, and vendors in a professional and respectful manner. The role requires independent issue resolution related to appraisals and providing sound recommendations to management regarding risk. Appraisal conclusions must be communicated verbally and in writing.
The position also requires maintaining knowledge of regulations and bank policies, including BSA and OFAC requirements, and supporting sound Credit Risk Management by validating loan-to-value judgments during underwriting.
- Utilize Mercury Network to track residential real estate appraisals/evaluations
- Review appraisals/evaluations for USPAP/FIRREA compliance and reasonableness of values
- Interact professionally with associates, management, clients, and vendors
- Independently address appraisal-related issues and provide risk-based recommendations to management
- Communicate appraisal conclusions verbally and in writing
- Maintain current knowledge of regulations and bank policies (including BSA/OFAC)
- Support Credit Risk Management by validating loan-to-value during underwriting
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- State appraiser certification with license in good standing in at least one of Colorado, Kansas, or Missouri
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- 2+ years of management experience
- Certified General License in MO, KS, CO, NM, UT, TX (Bank operating states)
- Experience with a computerized real estate appraisal ordering/tracking system
- Strong knowledge of USPAP, FIRREA, and federal/state appraisal regulations
- Understanding of real estate valuation principles and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Self-directed with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to communicate appraisal conclusions to various stakeholders
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts in the appraisal process
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Sound and timely decision-making with accountability for results
- Ability to interpret internal policies and procedures
