Compensation Range Hourly: $30.55 - $35.80 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This JobThe main purpose of this job is to be responsible for analyzing commercial credits by conducting and reviewing comprehensive financial analysis on companies of diverse industries and sizes.
Essential Functions- Prepare Credit Approval Summary packets (highly complex) manually and through Moody's Credit Lens
- Review Credit Approval Summary packets (minimal to moderate complexity) completed by other Analysts and Trainees
- Review financial statement spreads completed by other Analysts and Trainees with completion of highly complex spreads
- Perform complex financial analysis on companies of diverse industries and sizes for commercial loan applying prior knowledge of loan structuring and cash flow
- Research and understand complex legal loan documentation
- Provide error resolution and feedback based on work reviewed
- Serve as SME for financial statement spread and CAS packet compilation process, sharing knowledge with others in the department by way of training/onboarding or ongoing quality control
- Create pricing worksheets for loan and relationship profitability
- Serve as the Loan committee secretary
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Intermediate to expert knowledge of financial concepts and financial statements utilizing financial and accounting principles
- Intermediate to expert understanding of key financial ratios such as cashflow, leverage and debt service coverage
- Intermediate understanding of loan structure including cashflow thresholds, collateral pools, covenants and other risk mitigating techniques
- Intermediate level knowledge of Commerce (or other conservative peer bank) risk appetite with application during underwriting process
- Intermediate level of Moody's Credit Lens and associated processes
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities with little to no oversight
- Ability to drive results while applying above knowledge
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to most situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Bachelor's degree in a Business related field, with a preference for majors in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 3+ years prior credit or financial analyst experience in commercial lending or credit administration department required
