We welcome applications from individuals from a broad range of disciplines to join us in advancing implementation science to achieve health equity. The The Department of Population Health was recently awarded an $11M Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) multi-year grant establishing the Kansas Center for Implementation Science (KCIS) with the goal of strengthening institutional, state, and national capacity in implementation and dissemination research.

KCIS provides core services, pilot project grants, protected research time, and mentorship. KCIS's mission is to eliminate health disparities across the life course through implementation science.

We seek to identify an investigator to join the KCIS team. Successful candidates will be engaged in research in any domain of health and healthcare that seeks to optimize the adoption of evidence-based interventions and practices in relevant clinical or community settings. This is a 12-month. tenure-track position and opportunities exist for secondary appointments in other departments in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Professions at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) campus in Kansas City, as well as academic units of the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

The Department of Population Health, located in the School of Medicine, provides a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. While our faculty draw from different scholarly disciplines, we share a common goal of remediating health disparities across Kansas and beyond. In addition to a record of partnership with state and regional health authorities, department faculty have long-standing collaborations with many community and clinical partners, providing a rich environment for impactful implementation science and community-engaged research.

With faculty on three campuses - Kansas City, Wichita, and Salina - the Department is the academic home for graduate education leading to the MHSA, MPH, MSCR, and PhD.

In addition to KCIS, collaborating centers and institutional partners based at KUMC include:

* The University of Kansas Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center

* The statewide Kansas Cancer Registry, hosted by the Department since 1994

* The NIA-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center

* The Kansas Center for Rural Health

* NCATS-funded Frontiers Clinical & Translational Institute

* The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS), an integrated healthcare system with hospitals and outpatient clinical sites throughout Kansas and more than 1 million patient encounters each year

The Department of Population Health is committed to supporting work/life balance for our faculty and staff. We encourage a breadth of perspective to foster a robust intellectual community with capacity to address the population health challenges of all the communities we serve.
