OR Technologist II

Compensation:

Hourly Pay: $25–$35/hr (experience-based; top range considered with 17+ years)

On-Call Pay: +$3/hr (must live within 30 minutes)

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

Overview

The OR Tech II provides skilled intraoperative support within a high-volume surgical services department. This role requires advanced technical ability, strong sterile technique, and the capacity to anticipate surgeon and team needs. Tier 2 technologists manage a wide range of procedures while contributing to a safe, efficient, and collaborative operating room environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with required instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, draping, and safe transport as needed.
• Scrub into surgical procedures, handle specimens, and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Maintain sterile technique and support efficient room turnover.
• Operate specialized equipment in robotics, total joints, neuro/spine, and vascular surgery.
• Monitor equipment and respond promptly to intraoperative issues.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, nurses, and fellow techs to maintain a high-performance team culture.

Required:

• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room technologist experience.
• Competency to first scrub in at least three of these specialties:
• Robotic surgery
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CORT).
• BLS (AHA or ARC) required upon hire.

Preferred:

• CST certification (NBSTSA).
• Strong organizational skills and wire-handling ability.
• Demonstrated teamwork and reliability.
