Donor Relations Associate/Customer Service Representative
Job Location s: US-MO-Kansas City
ResponsibilitiesPerform liaison and support activities related to recruitment management of sponsors, coordinators and donors including administrative paperwork, sponsor and donor communications, database queries, web searches, dissemination of daily collection performance, special event coverage, and the distribution and creation of drive media and promotional materials.
Essential Functions
Coordinate communications between sponsors, coordinators, donors, Account Managers, and the blood center. Serve as primary point of contact for the Account Managers when they are not in the office and provides back‑up and support coverage as needed:
- Answer and/or work with Account Managers to resolve general questions, recruitment issues, solve problems, and update/maintain donor information.
- Create and provide promotional materials to Account Managers.
- Uses software systems to produce queries, donor lists and other applicable reports/forms.
- Maintains accurate records. This includes computer data entry, appointment schedules, and written records.
- Possesses a clear understanding of the donation process and donor deferral guidelines and procedures. Refers donor inquiries to appropriate personnel. Respects confidentiality regarding donor information and materials related to the Blood Bank.
- Recruit blood donors at off‑site events such as health fairs, sign up sessions or day of blood drives.
- Helps with additional projects as needed.
- Support organizational needs by scheduling blood drives with existing accounts, identifying new hosts.
- Help with preparation efforts for special events (i.e. contacting invitees for participation lists, setting up gift tables, refreshments, check‑in tables etc.).
- Contact individuals to encourage their participation in upcoming blood drives.
- Upon request, be able to prepare and present specific presentations to targeted donor groups to increase education and awareness for blood donations.
- Assist with training and support and mentor others when needed.

Qualifications Required Minimum Education & ExperienceEducation:
High School diploma or equivalent
Related
Experience:
2 years' experience in customer service, sales, and/or administrative support. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Associates or bachelor's degree.
Blood banking knowledge, customer service training.
Knowledge- Read and interpret medical, technical, regulatory and quality procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite--Word, Excel, Power-point and Outlook.
- Computer desktop applications and computer software systems.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Accurate in transcription of numbers.
- Persuasive and sales.
- Resolve problems and customer concerns.
- Maintain composure under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify and analyze alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems within established policies and procedures.
