Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the K  team supporting the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team working on BD and KM systems supporting DoD Test Ranges and various acquisition programs.

  • Data Driven Analysis:
    Support customers with insights from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data. Enable development of data-driven decision analysis products using data science, machine learning, and operations research to provide robust testing and evaluation capabilities for DoD modernization.
  • Data Mining:
    Experience with data mining/analysis methods, accessing data in various storage paradigms, developing models with statistical and ML approaches, using and creating custom algorithms, implementing analysis workflows in Python or R, and writing reports/documentation.
  • Analytic

    Experience:

    Provide analytic consulting services, support analytic workflow/product development/testing, promote user adoption of data science methods, conduct applied methods projects, and create analysis-ready data. Identify opportunities for process/workflow optimization.
  • Customer-Facing

    Experience:

    Be the face of the CHEETAS Team and ensure stakeholders have the analytical tools, data products and reports to make insightful recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Assistance:
    Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify analytic requirements and analysis questions informed by large data sets from test events or exercises.
  • Communication:
    Drive decisions through written or oral communication of data-based insights; communicate effectively at programmatic and technical levels.
  • Technical Support:
    Possess extensive technical expertise in operations research methods and DoD problems. Work with CHEETAS and related tools; demonstrate tools to stakeholders and VIPs; tailor internally-developed tools/reports to emerging needs; gather use cases and requirements; provide feature requests/bug reports to development; and perform end-user training, potentially troubleshooting in closed networks without internet access (with distributed team support).
  • Independent Work:
    Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision; experience testing the effectiveness of different courses of action.
Work Environment
  • Location:

    Remote
  • Travel: 25% with potential surge to 50% to support end users at DoD labs and ranges across the US. When not onsite, can work remotely or from a nearby K  office (if available).
  • Working Hours:

    Standard; may be the only team member on-site at times, but you will not be alone.
Qualifications
  • Security Clearance:
    Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Education:

    Advanced degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science or information technology with preferred 12+ years of experience within DoD.
  • DOD

    Experience:

    5-10 years of DoD experience considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience:

    Working with end users, gathering requirements, refining/operating data analysis tools, developing and interpreting analytic products with DoD data types.
