Senior IT Applications Specialist

The Senior IT Applications Specialist is responsible for operating, maintaining, and deploying enterprise software technologies and tools across the organization. This role leads the scoping and execution of IT applications operations initiatives in alignment with budget constraints and internal client needs.

The position supports Global Practices, Regional Offices, Project Offices, and affiliates worldwide, with a strong focus on Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) application environments.

• Plan, operate, and maintain AEC applications, infrastructure, and data environments for internal clients, including core platforms such as Autodesk, Bentley Systems, Hexagon, and ESRI.
• Deploy, configure, and support AEC and related enterprise applications based on evolving business demand.
• Lead application administration and develop automation routines related to provisioning, permissions, metadata, and operational workflows.
• Apply deep technical knowledge to complex initiatives and identify operational efficiencies that improve project execution and delivery.
• Coordinate across IT disciplines and Global Practices to ensure applications and technologies optimize business processes, data integration, and deliverables.
• Build strong relationships with internal clients and identify new operational support opportunities to enhance service delivery.
• Troubleshoot critical incidents and complex issues escalated by internal clients or IT applications staff.
• Escalate unresolved issues to vendor product support in a timely and effective manner.
• Develop application testing plans, execute testing, and document outcomes within initiative execution plans.
• Analyze recurring issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Identify issue trends and propose solutions that reduce repeat incidents and improve system stability.
• Stay current on product updates and technology advancements relevant to the AEC industry.
• Create and maintain system architecture diagrams for critical application environments.
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior IT applications staff.
• Oversee QA/QC processes related to application support and incident ticket resolution.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, CAD, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience supporting and troubleshooting design and engineering application software.
• Equivalent applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expert-level experience supporting Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon, ESRI, or similar engineering and design software suites in a production environment.
• Strong customer service, troubleshooting, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to assess customer concerns, evaluate alternatives, and provide effective technical guidance.
• Ability to interact with customers professionally while improving productivity and service quality.
• Demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships with clients, vendors, and business partners.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise desktop tools.
