The Enterprise Business Intelligence Engineer I is a member of the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team and collaborates across Firm Technology Services on various projects to identify improvement opportunities and provide guidance, best practices, and support for reports, analytics, and analytical applications. This role helps ensure data is available in a secure, scalable, and high‑performing manner to meet the technical, operational, and business needs of Forvis Mazars.
Enterprise Business Intelligence Engineers are typically responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data solutions that enable timely and accurate business insights. This includes applying systems and business analysis techniques and working with end users to define data and functional specifications. The position also supports the creation of workflows that improve efficiency across the firm.
EDS is recognized internally as the team trusted to handle the firm's most complex information management projects. We analyze, design, and develop enterprise data and information architecture deliverables, treating data as a strategic business asset.
What You Will Do:- Work with team members to understand the business and technical problems EDS aims to solve.
- Maintain an enterprise perspective when designing, developing, and implementing solutions.
- Communicate with clients to support effective development of reports and business intelligence solutions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing data integrations and reports.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on workflow development.
- Partner with the EDS Engineering team to establish dashboards, reports, and monitoring tools for data quality.
- Support updates to enterprise systems and processes (e.g., Practice Structure Changes).
- Implement process improvements to reduce development time and support long‑term strategic planning.
- Assist with scoping reporting and analytics initiatives, including defining objectives, requirements, and expected outcomes.
- Promote enterprise best practices, guidelines, and techniques in reporting, analytics, and analytical applications.
- Support business lines in designing reporting and analytics architectures (including semantic model creation).
- Assist business partners in optimizing reporting and analytics solutions.
- Act as a liaison to the Data Engineering and Data Governance Centers of Excellence.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in reporting and analytics.
- 2+ years of relevant experience performing responsibilities comparable to this role.
- 1+ year of experience with Fabric / Power BI architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with semantic models in Fabric / Power BI.
- Experience gathering requirements for reporting and analytics.
- Strong analytical and solution‑design skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to partner effectively with Product Management, Project Management, and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of semantic data concepts.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging reporting and analytics technologies.
- Ability to follow and contribute to Forvis Mazars’ enterprise and data architecture principles and guidelines.
- Experience with Databricks is a plus.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
