Senior AEC IT Applications Specialist

Capstone IT is helping our client find a Senior AEC IT Applications Engineer who will lead the support, maintenance, and deployment of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) software across a global organization. This person will own day‑to‑day operations for key design platforms (Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon, ESRI), drive automation and process improvements, troubleshoot complex production issues, and coordinate closely with business units and IT teams to ensure applications are stable, integrated, and optimized for project delivery.

• Autodesk administration and support
• Bentley Systems administration and support
• ESRI administration and support

• Plan and manage operations and maintenance of AEC applications, infrastructure, and related data.
• Deploy and support Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon, ESRI, and other engineering design platforms.
• Lead application administration, including provisioning, permissions, metadata management, and automation routines.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues and coordinate with vendors for escalation when needed.
• Analyze recurring issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and document test plans and record outcomes.
• Create system architecture diagrams for critical systems.
• Coordinate across IT disciplines and global business practices to optimize integrations and data management.
• Support QA/QC processes for incident management.
• Mentor junior IT applications staff and provide technical guidance.
• Stay current on AEC industry software enhancements and recommend improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, CAD, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience supporting design applications in production environments
• OR equivalent hands‑on experience in lieu of degree
• Expert‑level experience with Autodesk, Bentley, Hexagon, ESRI, or similar engineering design platforms
• Strong experience troubleshooting complex enterprise application issues
• Experience supporting global or multi‑business unit environments preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
