Cybersecurity Manager

An organization is seeking a Cybersecurity Manager to lead enterprise security strategy, risk management, and protection of digital systems and data. This role is responsible for establishing security standards, strengthening system defenses, managing security operations, and ensuring the organization’s technology environment remains secure, resilient, and compliant.

The position partners with technology leadership, business stakeholders, and external vendors to implement security controls, manage risk, and align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

Security Strategy & Architecture

• Develop and implement enterprise cybersecurity strategy, standards, and controls
• Design and maintain secure system architecture across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments
• Translate security frameworks and regulatory requirements into technical policies and procedures
• Evaluate and implement security technologies to strengthen organizational defenses
• Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability evaluations, and threat analyses
• Establish policies and processes for data protection, access management, and system security
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements
• Monitor emerging threats and implement mitigation strategies

Security Operations & Incident Response

• Oversee security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities
• Coordinate incident response activities, investigations, and remediation efforts
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and operational playbooks
• Improve security posture through continuous monitoring and performance analysis
• Implement and manage identity and access management controls
• Secure cloud platforms, networks, applications, and enterprise systems
• Support secure deployment practices and system lifecycle management
• Partner with IT teams to integrate security into infrastructure and development processes
• Lead cybersecurity programs, initiatives, and cross-functional projects
• Develop security standards, procedures, and technical documentation
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate security service providers
• Provide guidance and education to teams on security best practices

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, architecture, and risk management practices
• Knowledge of industry frameworks such as International Organization for Standardization ISO/IEC 27001/27002 and National Institute of Standards and Technology guidance (NIST 800-series)
• Experience with vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response processes
• Knowledge of identity and access management, authentication methods, and data protection practices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong documentation, organization, and program management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

Required

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related technical roles
• Experience implementing security controls and managing enterprise security programs

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or similar)
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
