The digital footprint required to manage critical infrastructure has expanded to include information technology (IT), operational technology (OT), and internet of things (IoT) systems. Securing these environments to prevent operational disruption is increasingly critical. 1898 & Co. provides 24x7 managed security services designed specifically for these environments, offering continuous monitoring and informed guidance to help critical infrastructure providers maintain resilient and secure operations.

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of managed security service offerings for critical infrastructure clients. This role serves as the primary product owner for client‑facing solutions, with accountability for product vision, market positioning, pricing, financial performance, and long‑term portfolio strategy.

The Product Manager translates client needs, market dynamics, and industry trends into differentiated, profitable product solutions. This role collaborates closely with clients, leadership, sales, marketing, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure offerings are positioned, priced, and executed successfully, while supporting both client outcomes and the broader strategic objectives of Burns & McDonnell and 1898 & Co.

What You Will Do Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, develop, train, and retain high‑performing staff to support product development and delivery.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to product and delivery team members.

  • Promote company culture, values, and mission while communicating organizational goals and policies.

  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes, risk management practices, and applicable safety and compliance standards.

  • Align product and delivery teams around client commitments, execution priorities, and strategic objectives.

Product Strategy, Portfolio and Market Execution
  • Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for managed security service offerings, from market identification and concept development through commercialization, delivery, and ongoing optimization.

  • Define and present product and portfolio strategy based on client demand, market trends, competitive analysis, and growth objectives.

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps that balance client needs, delivery feasibility, revenue growth, and long‑term strategic positioning.

  • Lead market and client discovery efforts, including voice‑of‑customer analysis, industry research, and competitive intelligence.

  • Define core product positioning, value propositions, and differentiated messaging in partnership with sales and marketing.

  • Evaluate external partnerships, licensing models, and strategic alliances that enhance product value and market reach.

  • Define and manage pricing strategies, commercial models, and profitability targets aligned to revenue and margin goals.

  • Develop and present business cases and funding plans to support product investment decisions.

  • Establish and track product performance metrics, including market adoption, client satisfaction, revenue, margins, and return on investment.

Product Development and Technical Execution
  • Translate client and market insights into clear product requirements and solution definitions in collaboration with engineering and delivery teams.

  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure high‑quality, scalable, and secure product delivery.

  • Provide industry, competitive, and technical expertise to guide design and implementation decisions.

  • Ensure product delivery meets defined quality, risk, and compliance standards.

  • Support post‑sales lifecycle activities, including service optimization, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in and lead product demonstrations for internal and external audiences as needed.
