Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Service Now Developer to join our team onsite in Kansas City. This is a 6-month contract engagement with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
The Service Now Developer will design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise solutions across IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), CMDB, and Common Service Data Model (CSDM). This role is hands‑on and will work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions aligned with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities Service Now Development & Configuration- Design, develop, and customize Service Now applications and modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, and enterprise workflows.
- Develop integrations between Service Now and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and Integration Hub.
- Build and optimize workflows using Flow Designer and Orchestration.
- Implement and maintain a healthy, accurate CMDB aligned with CSDM principles.
- Design and manage Configuration Item (CI) relationships to support business services and IT operations.
- Ensure data integrity and governance best practices are followed.
- Develop automation solutions to streamline IT and business processes.
- Optimize platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage platform upgrades, patches, and deployments.
- Conduct unit testing, debugging, and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing Service Now implementations.
- Analyze user requirements and develop technical solutions to meet business needs.
- Work closely with developers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Provide technical recommendations and guidance across business lines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field + 4 years of professional experience
- Associate degree + 6 years of professional experience
- High School Diploma/GED + 8 years of professional experience
- Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on Service Now development experience.
- Strong experience in one or more of the following: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, CMDB, CSDM.
- Familiarity with Service Now data structures, ACLs, business rules, and update sets.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments (storage, backups, operating systems).
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
