IT Data Engineer

Build a scalable data foundation with Microsoft Fabric in a role focused on enterprise data architecture, reliable pipelines, and data you can trust. This onsite IT Data Engineer position at JE Dunn partners with data consumers and source system owners to deliver data quality, accessibility, and interoperability that supports both analytics and machine learning workflows.

• Design and implement a data mesh architecture using Microsoft Fabric One Lake Lake houses, including data governance and security measures
• Create and maintain data transformation processes that drive data quality and consistency
• Develop and run synchronous (real-time) and batch integration processes, supporting unidirectional and bidirectional data flows as needed
• Implement API and delta connections to enable system interoperability
• Use data validation to support successful data exchange between systems
• Monitor system performance, compute resources, and storage utilization
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and address performance bottlenecks
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, pipelines, and processes
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to identify data synergies and opportunities
• Monitor and maintain deployed machine learning models
• Document ML model data dependencies, pipelines, and infrastructure requirements
• Support ML model development by ensuring reliable data pipelines for training and inference

• Experience with various data integration patterns and technologies
• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices

• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs for data integration
• Familiarity with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalog and governance tools
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and MLOps

Minimum experience: 2 years.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science or related field. In lieu of these requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
