Senior Insurance & Risk Specialist

We’re partnering with a highly respected, architecture and construction organization to help identify a Senior Risk Specialist for its Corporate Insurance team in Kansas City. The firm operates globally and is known for delivering critical infrastructure projects across a wide range of industries, with a strong culture of ownership and long‑term thinking.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has built a strong foundation in construction/A&E risk either:

• on the broker/agency side supporting construction and design firm clients, or
• on the corporate side managing risk/insurance for a contractor, EPC, or architecture/engineering organization.

This is not a transactional insurance role. This person will help manage and influence the company’s enterprise insurance strategy and serve as a key internal advisor to leadership, project teams and other stakeholders. The role includes high‑visibility exposure and cross‑functional partnership across the organization.

In this role, you will help manage the company’s insurance and risk program, including responsibilities such as:

• Reviewing contracts and advising on insurance requirements and liability exposures
• Gathering and analyzing underwriting data
• Acting as a liaison among internal teams, brokers, adjusters and attorneys on claims matters
• Staying current on changing exposures, operations and market conditions
• Contributing to leadership communication and team direction within the insurance function

We’re looking for someone with 7+ years of experience in insurance, risk management, or corporate insurance, with hands‑on experience in:

• Construction risk
• Architecture/Engineering (A&E) or Design Professional‑related exposures
• Contract review / insurance requirements
• Liability and claims coordination
• Working with brokers and carriers on complex coverage needs
